Urban Mission has been helping at a summer youth camp in Piatkow, Poland since 2007. The camp provides a free holiday for a week to 30+ children from poor families. At present they cater for the children in make-shift accommodation which is proving to be a struggle. Pastor Boleslaw Wysoczynski who runs the camp would like to replace the current dormitory:

With this proposed dormitory:

The building will have 9 rooms with washing and toilet facilities, a dining area and lounge area, and will accommodate 36 children. The building will also be used for church conferences. Urban Mission are helping Pastor Wysoczynski to raise £50,000 towards this and to date £980 has been raised.

There are many ways that we can be a part of this and help raise the funds to build this much needed dormitory.

1. Join the ‘Piatkow Cup Scheme’: purchase a mug for £5 and then use it to collect money

2. Make a donation: cheques can be made to ‘Laburnum Road Community Church and write ‘UM Poland’ on the back

3. Recycling aluminium: collect your used aluminium cans and foil. These can be sold and the money will go towards the project. (You can bring your aluminium to Carley where Mark will be able to collect it. Please leave it by the notice board in the Vestibule)

Please also continue to pray for this project.
